Phyt Cares Launches Virtual Workout Classes To Empower Globally Via Fitness
Phyt Cares , the 501c3 U.S. tax-exempt and 1101.01 Puerto Rico tax-exempt non-profit arm of Phyt Gym founded by Jonas Serrano and co-founded by Elana Margulies-Snyderman which educates youth and communities in New York City and Puerto Rico via fitness, is bringing our mission worldwide; and will empower people across the globe to stay active and healthy during the COVID-19 pandemic by offering complimentary virtual workouts they can join from their home.
“During this pandemic, we realize it is very important to understand the various guidelines and policies established to ensure everyone is safe and healthy while battling this unknown enemy that no one is immune to. It is crucial to maintain physical, mental and emotional health during this crisis and for everyone to keep their bodies and minds strong through fitness and proper nutrition and that is why we are taking this position to do our part to empower globally,” said Serrano, who also serves as President of the Board of Directors. “In addition, as a fitness business owner, I feel this is the time for prominent fitness brands such as Equinox; New York Health & Racquet Club; New York Sports Club; LA Fitness; LIV Fitness; HCOA Fitness; among others, in both New York City and Puerto Rico, to also follow my lead, take on the same battle we are fighting and come up with their own innovative ways to give back to the cities that gave them life and allowed their businesses to prosper.”
Serrano added: “As everyone is doing their part in this pandemic, the onus is on all of us to deal with the aftermath. Once we all get past this, my doors to Phyt Gym are going to be open to welcome any fitness professional that needs to rebuild their businesses in order for it to thrive.”
Phyt Gym is also opening its doors in New York City and Puerto Rico to local first responders to give them access to our facility for stress release, or serve as a local hospital and more.
Phyt Cares would like to thank the women in alternative investments in New York City for providing the initial support in jump-starting our virtual fitness classes.
“The women in New York City have been instrumental supporters since our inception and without them, our mission wouldn’t be possible,” said Margulies-Snyderman, who also serves as Secretary, Board of Directors. “We are honored for their support while at the same time; we can continue our impact not only to empower them via fitness but also women worldwide. Throughout history and various crises, there have been notable women leading the charge during global health crises and I am honored to lead this one via fitness.”
The virtual fitness classes will be complimentary on Zoom but any tax-exempt donations can be made at the Donate button halfway down the page on the Phyt Cares webpage. Class schedule is as follows: Tuesdays at 4:30pm EST and Saturdays at 9:00am EST.
