John Bollinger, CFA, CMT, is the president and founder of Bollinger Capital Management, Inc., an investment management company that provides technically driven money management services and develops proprietary research for institutions and individuals. He is probably best known for his Bollinger Bands, which he developed in the early 1980s. Traders and investors worldwide use Bollinger Bands to assess expected price action in the financial markets, and the bands are featured on most financial charting software and websites. John graduated from New York University with a Bachelor of Arts in Business and Legal Studies. Using a thesis created at NYU’s Stern School of Business, John sold his first company to Barnes and Noble (NYSE: BKS). This concept evolved into the largest retailer of video games, GameStop (NYSE: GME). On Wall St., John began his career working in Convertible Risk Arbitrage on the floor of the NY Stock Exchange. During the internet revolution, John was a pioneer of Direct Access technology and trained professional traders. John is highly proficient in market mechanics, sector research, ETF’s, options, fixed income, fundamental analysis and earned his designation as Certified Market Technician. He has lectured to individual investors nationwide as a keynote speaker for the Money Show, NY Traders Expo and Traders Summit. BILL GRIFFETH – Co-Anchor, Nightly Business Report
Bill Griffeth is co-anchor of “Nightly Business Report,” an award-winning evening business news program produced by CNBC for U.S. public television. Previously, Griffeth was co-anchor of the 3PM ET hour of CNBC’s “Closing Bell”. With more than 35 years’ experience in business television, he is one of the most respected financial journalists in the country. Best known for his quick wit and ability to think on his feet, he brings an extensive knowledge of the markets and market history to CNBC’s programming. Griffeth was part of the production team that, in 1981, started Financial News Network (FNN), the first cable channel devoted to business news. During his 10 years at FNN, he was nominated for a CableACE award as best news anchor for his work anchoring coverage of the stock market crash of 1987. In 1991, when NBC purchased FNN, Griffeth joined the CNBC team. He has anchored a number of programs for the network through the years, including “Market Wrap,” “Mutual Fund Investor,” “The Money Club” and the very popular “Power Lunch,” which he had co-hosted with Sue Herera. Along the way, he garnered six more CableACE nominations. Griffeth has written four books, The Stranger in My Genes , in 2016; By Faith Alone: One Family’s Epic Journey Through 400 Years of American Protestantism , in 2007; Bill Griffeth’s Ten Steps to Financial Prosperity , published in 1994; and The Mutual Fund Masters , in 1995. Griffeth received his bachelor’s degree in journalism in 1980 from California State University, Northridge; in 2000, CSUN honored him with its “Distinguished Alumnus Award.” In 2017, his alma mater awarded him an honorary doctor of humane letters degree.
