Phyt Cares To Hold Annual Virtual Fundraiser Wednesday Evening, November 4th, 2020

Phyt Cares , the minority and woman-led 501c3 U.S. tax-exempt and 1101.01 Puerto Rico tax-exempt non-profit arm of Phyt Gym that educates youth and communities in New York City, Puerto Rico and the globe (virtually) through fitness founded by Puerto Rican Jonas Serrano and co-founded by Elana Margulies Snyderman will hold its Annual 2020 Virtual Fundraiser Wednesday, November 4 th , 2020 at 5:30pm EST via Zoom.*

“Through the challenges caused by the global COVID-19 pandemic which impacted all of us, including mourning losses of loved ones, Phyt Cares has empowered our communities to show how resilient everyone can be to deal with adversity and overcome some of life’s most difficult obstacles,” said Serrano.  “In addition, this pandemic has demonstrated how it is more important than ever to support each other and the local businesses in the communities we serve so we can all thrive during these difficult times. Hence, we created Phyt Central to support neighboring companies. In San Juan, we are honored to align with RamonTribe, Mexicali Mexican Restaurant, Rooster’s Café, Pura Cultura, VIP Parking, Condado Home Repair and more and this is just the beginning.”

Margulies-Snyderman added: “ Phyt Cares would like to thank so many people for their support during these unprecedented times by participating in Virtual Phytness 1-on-1 personal training and small group classes since the beginning of the pandemic and the workouts are still going strong.   Phyt Cares not only helped empower people from across so many States during the pandemic to stay active and healthy and release stress, but due to their generosity, we were able to offer complimentary Virtual Phytness classes to underserved communities throughout the States. Also, in a year where Diversity & Inclusion initiatives have never been more prominent, we wanted to give a special thanks to the women in financial services who have supported our cause while juggling multiple responsibilities.”

Prior to COVID-19, during our FY2020, in New York City, we continued our long-standing partnership with 8 th graders at Issac Newton Middle School in East Harlem and we also struck a new partnership with the Young Adult Institute (YAI) which supports people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. In Puerto Rico, we continued our long-standing partnership with El Gimnasio Boxeo La Perla and formed a new collaboration with Complejo de Rehabilitación para Mujeres de Bayamón which serves incarcerated women. Phyt Cares is proud to continue working with these groups in person abiding by guidelines from the local jurisdictions in New York and Puerto Rico.
